| Gentlemen: We've lost one of our own. I received e-mail from Helen Flores, wife of Cruz Flores. These are her words "My husband, Cruz Flores, died late on Fathers Day, June 18 in Madison Wisconsin. His goal had been to make it to September and get to Ellsworth AFB for a reunion of the 44th Strategic Missile Wing. He -- and our family -- got a great gift when Bill Grace, who had not seen Cruz for 40 years, flew in from Hartford CT to give Cruz a small reunion. Bill was with Cruz when he died that evening." "Cruz was a wonderful man, and I think those years in the service helped to shape him. He was a man of great integrity, with a passionate heart and a quick wit. He loved deeply and was loved in return by family and many, many friends. To the end, he considered himself a lucky man." |
